Solicitors must publish price and service information for certain services. The sections below cover our services where this is required, our hourly rates, and how "no win, no fee" funding works for personal injury claims. We are VAT-registered (VAT number 477635154). Our fees are shown excluding VAT, and VAT is added at 20%. VAT is not added to third-party charges that are not subject to VAT, such as court, Home Office and HM Land Registry fees.
Immigration
Our immigration prices are published on our immigration fee page: the £100 initial consultation, typical fixed fees for applications, appeals and reviews, what our fees cover and exclude, third-party charges, payment terms, timescales and who carries out the work.
Probate
Our approximate probate fees for straightforward, uncontested estates are published on our probate fee page, with what they include, likely disbursements, timescales and who carries out the work.
Conveyancing (Property Law / Land Registry)
We act for sellers and for cash buyers of residential and commercial property. Our conveyancing fees, the likely third-party costs, what is included, the key stages and typical timescales are on our conveyancing fee page.
Personal injury: how "no win, no fee" works
We can offer "no win, no fee" arrangements where, having assessed the merits of your claim, it is feasible to do so.
We usually act under a conditional fee agreement, often called "no win, no fee". It is a written agreement, and we explain it to you before you sign. You pay nothing to us at the start, and if your claim does not succeed you do not pay our fees.
If your claim succeeds
- The other side is normally ordered or agrees to pay a contribution towards our costs. In many cases this is fixed by court rules and may not cover all of our charges.
- We also charge a success fee, taken from your compensation. It is never more than 25% of your compensation for pain, suffering and loss of amenity and for financial losses up to the date of settlement or trial, after deducting any state benefits that must be repaid. It is never taken from compensation for future losses, such as future loss of earnings or care. We confirm the exact percentage in writing before you sign.
Insurance
Where it is appropriate, we arrange after-the-event insurance. It covers expenses such as medical reports and court fees, and certain costs, if your claim does not succeed. The premium cannot usually be recovered from the other side. It is normally payable only if you win, from your compensation, and we tell you its cost in writing before you take out the policy.
If your claim does not succeed
In most personal injury claims you will not have to pay the other side's legal costs if you lose. That protection can be lost if a court finds the claim to be fundamentally dishonest, or strikes it out.
When you might still have to pay
- If you turn down a formal settlement offer and then do not do better at trial, you may have to pay the other side's costs from the date of that offer. These are normally taken from your compensation.
- If you end the agreement early, or do not co-operate with us or give us false information, you may have to pay our charges and expenses.
- Expenses that are not covered by insurance.
We explain every deduction to you before your claim is settled.
Our hourly rates
Where we charge by the hour, the rate depends on who carries out the work and on the type of matter. We always agree the basis of our charges with you before work starts, and give you an estimate.

Other practice areas
For our other practice areas, we are happy to discuss the likely costs of your matter when you contact us, and we confirm the basis of our charges and an estimate in writing before starting work.
